When Amazon dropped New World’s roadmap earlier this month, it reminded players that season 9 will be headlined by a Capture the Flag PvP mechanic. And we sure hope you’re enthused by that because Amazon is funneling you into it.

“We are excited to launch the newest game mode for New World: Aeternum, Capture the Flag, with Season 9!” Amazon announced in Discord.

“For the start of Season of the Banner it is important to us to ensure everyone has a chance to enjoy this new mode. To that end, we are aiming for short queue times for Capture the Flag by temporarily limiting the number of PvP game modes available. Outpost Rush will be disabled from July 29 to August 8. The team will be monitoring queues afterward, and taking necessary steps to keep queue times short for the best player experience. Jump in and carry the banner for your team on July 29!”

In a separate announcement this afternoon, Amazon told EU players that “[l]atent characters in the EU Central region now have the ability to transfer in to the Bifrost world.”
