Non-violent mobile MMO Spirit Crossing opens alpha testing, shows off collecting and communal build

Last March we found out a lot more detail about the MMO project being developed by Spry Fox, including its full name of Spirit Crossing. In case you don’t remember, this is the non-violent MMO we first caught wind of in 2021 that promises “a cozy, cooperative life-sim focused on friendship and community.” At the time of reporting, the announcement offered an invitation to early access but links weren’t functioning.

Well, those links are functioning now: The game’s website has been reopened and players on Android and iOS devices can now sign up to join in the alpha playtest, though gamers will need to have a Netflix account in order to do so; recall that Netflix bought up Spry Fox as part of its pivot towards gaming.

Beyond that announcement at the top of the month, the game has been peppering Twitter with feature preview videos, which grant a look at the ability to collect items and turn them in to an NPC for cataloguing and the waystations feature that lets players come together in order to build their own tiny communities within larger villages.
