Old School RuneScape is really hoping that players will be jazzed for the release of Varlamore: The Final Dawn later this week, but just in case there isn’t enough frothing hype from the playerbase, Jagex has made sure to release a making-of video package that’s all about the quest.
The footage provides several in-game looks at what The Final Dawn brings to the table, including the invincible gemstone crab that lets players improve combat skill while AFK (and mine gems off its back if they’re within the top damage contributors), a peek at the main quest, a preview of the mechanics for the Doom of Mokhaiotl boss fight and its various tiers of challenge, and information about the fletching activity involving the spirits of the forest, as well as looks at several rewards waiting in the update’s activities. Think of it like a sort of in-game engine set of patch notes narrated by some of the devs, basically.
Meanwhile the game has elected to continue outlining its incoming Summer Sweep-Up adjustments, this time with a major focus on the Slayer skill line. Players can expect an expanded block list for tasks, an update to early point earnings and reduction in point unlock costs, and an expansion of dragon tasks. There are other general tweaks planned that touch gargoyles, the mage training arena, moon keys, and arceuus spells as well.
