the hearts, they have lions

For the past few weeks we’ve been keeping eyes on Lionhearts, a strategy MMO set in the medieval time of the third crusade that hangs its hat on historical setting, 66 professions and 14 guild types to choose from, and the ability for players to build power and influence as they fight against other factions. And while it raised eyebrows with its meager $100K ask and its six-figure in-game duchy backer tiers that somehow aren’t pay-to-win because developer Credenzio says so, it met its base funding goal last week and has now officially crossed the finish line, raking in $160,837 from 965 backers.

While this final tally doesn’t unlock the pre-alpha testing that Credenzio was furiously stumping for, it does unlock several other stretch goals such as the PvP colosseum demo for certain backers, unlockable templar outfits, additional weapons in the colosseum, and the introduction of ranged weaponry and ranged combat.

The “persistent medieval simulator” will now move into its development to bring the Roblox spinoff title into its own full release. Obviously since the campaign just ended, there are no firm details on what’s next quite yet, but we expect there to be more information on that front soon (and presumably less hawking of influencer voices on Twitter). For now, know that this one has met its target and should begin production at pace now.
