As we’ve been covering for a while, the airship-focused survival sandbox Lost Skies hasn’t really seen many content updates since its early access launch this past April, but it has been getting hotfixed, the most recent of which arrived last month. Now it looks as if there will be added stuff on the near horizon, as developer Bossa Studios has provided word of its first full early access update on Monday, July 21st.

While there are no patch notes to speak of, the latest dev blog does confirm some of the big ticket features, such as the first pass at a map table that will help make navigation much easier, a new comfort system that will grant a rested bonus aboard an airship provided certain stations and decorations are placed well, a balance pass for combat, and a host of quality-of-life fixes like key rebinding and the option to disable screen shake. There will also be a major focus on bug squashing on top.

On the subject of bugs, the immense issue of players losing their progress takes up the vast majority of the post, as Bossa grants an extremely deep-dive on the problem, as it is an apparently tangled matter to uncoil. It reads as if this effort is still very much ongoing, but the team appears confident to have tied down solutions and goals to hit in order for this problem to be fully free and clear by the 1.0 release; when that will be isn’t specified, but there are very clearly efforts being made to slay this particular dragon.
