The time-honored tradition of posting an infographic full of playtest data is being celebrated by Vindictus: Defying Fate, as Nexon has gathered up plenty of fun numbers to showcase the widely played June open alpha. In summary, over 400K players fired up the game representing 189 different countries, where they defeated the Blood Lord and White Tyrant bosses hundreds of thousands of time and suffered over 7M defeats, 37K of which came by rolling logs.
The focus for Nexon now is to act on player feedback and refine the game. The studio promises to improve PC performance issues like low framerates and input delays, make combat more fluid by speeding up attack animations and allowing for more animation cancels, and ensure hit feedback for characters and enemies is more obvious. The devs also apologized for some unfinished segments that were included in the alpha build such as incomplete graphics settings and a fitting room that the studio admits didn’t feature cosmetics that fit the game’s setting.
For those who missed out on this alpha test, MOP’s own Tyler took it for a lengthy spin and found it to be highly polished in many ways but lacking in a couple of others and leaving questions like monetization unanswered. For everyone else, we’ll have to wait until the next test opens and drink from the data well of the infographic, which is presented in video form below.
