While Heroes of the Storm long ago got knocked back into maintenance mode because it was not knocking open enough wallets to knock on the door of further staffing, the people maintaining it keep knocking at the code to see what knocks loose. And that’s led to the latest patch the team has knocked out, which is all about knockback. For one thing, knockback interactions with roots have been standardized and adjusted, so heroes with knockback will not be knocking heads with teammates who want things to stay in place.

More importantly, knockback effects have been adjusted for several heroes, so characters like Falstad and Lucio now have unified standards for knockbacks instead of being knockoffs of other effects. There’s a whole lot of different heroes with these effects, so the patch notes are pretty extensive just to knock everything out at once. Check it out if you enjoy playing a character who likes to knock others around; don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it, after all.
