World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria Classic is live and someone already made it to 90

It wasn’t so long ago that World of Warcraft was bringing fans through Mists of Pandaria Remix as if the developers were worried everyone would be annoyed at the launch of Cataclysm. Perhaps correctly. But now it’s time for everyone to go back to Pandaria. No, really go back to Pandaria, in WoW Classic this time, because Mists of Pandaria Classic is now live for everyone. Adventurers can head to Pandaria itself, take part in Scenarios and Challenge Mode dungeons, earn new reputations, and generally quest across the land while definitely not working toward the resurrection of the Sha in any way, shape, or form!

It’s a good thing that this expansion doesn’t go there, right?

Jokes about the expansion’s story direction aside, the expansion is (as per usual) recreated as best as the team at Blizzard is able, complete with the old redone talent system, all of the era-appropriate quests and balancing, and so forth. So punch your way through leveling with the Monk, hang out with the Tillers, and explore the once-misty continent as the Horde and the Alliance slowly turn the peaceful land into a proxy conflict. Just know that you won’t be first to 90 – someone already did it in three hours.

Also, don’t expect perfect smoothness out of the first few days of play. Last night, Blizzard said the “launch was very popular” and that it was “working quickly to resolve server capacity and stability issues.” It even patched in a fix to “spread out players a bit more to reduce congestion and latency out in the world.”
