Remember how excited RIFT veterans were when Gamigo piped up this summer with Summerfest, Unicornalia, and a promise that it was “but the start” of its plans for the game, which has basically been in maintenance mode since it bought RIFT in 2018? Well, keep on getting excited, friendos, because Gamigo has rolled out another update this week, wee as it may be.

Gamigo’s update chiefly introduces a new cape slot item called Dragon’s Tongue. “This cape features the exclusive Smoldering Halo spell, obtained once the Dragon’s Tongue cape is acquired,” the patch notes say. “The Smoldering Halo spell can be found under Abilities > General > Cosmetic.” We also spy fixes for abilities in Celestial Lands, correctly linked help buttons, the who command, the Call to Action feature, and mount bugs.

The Ghar Station notes that datamining has dug up more than that: It looks as if Gamigo is planning more capes, including a Gamescom 2025 cape, also with halo effects; new icons; and new textures for the bear mount. TGS has pics if you’re up for spoilers!
