Ah, the minimum and recommended PC system specs for a game. The first watermark to know whether one’s computer is capable of running the latest and greatest or if they’re going to be left in the hardware dust because buying parts is really freaking expensive. It’s never a guarantee of performance, but it does at least help set expectations, and that’s just what Ship of Heroes is trying to do with an updated set of system requirements as the superheroic MMORPG slides to its August release window.

The recommended specs for the game ask for 32GB of RAM, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3000 series video card or AMD Radeon RX 6600 video card or better, and at least 35GB of storage in order to run the game at “the experience [developer Heroic Games] want to provide.” As for the minimum spec, SOH should run in at least 30 FPS with 16GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 or equivalent video card.

The post even goes so far as to break down how well the game runs on laptop versus desktop, suggests that those who stream the game should do so on PC first, and even gives a list of priority hardware pieces if gamers are looking to upgrade in preparation for launch. Go ahead and see if your machine stacks up ahead of time. You know you want to.
