Three years of development time has brought plenty of progress for Past Fate, but you don’t have to take our word for it, as developer Icy North’s latest developer video showcases the difference between 2022’s version and today.
The video talks up all of the work done to this point, juxtaposed against footage from a 2022 build and an internal build from this July. Along the way, the devs note improvements to UI, visuals, setting, and combat mechanics and animations, while also promising that more work will be done to further refine the game. Once again the devs are not revealing any launch timing for the game, but it does close with the promise that the game is “getting close to something special, and soon, you might just get to step into it yourself.”
For those who would rather not wait on an apparent round of open testing, the devs have also put out another video showcasing the MMORPG’s first 20 minutes. Readers might recall that Past Fate put out this kind of preview before, but this is obviously updated for 2025.
Meanwhile the current closed test version of the game brings the ability to sell items to vendors, improvements to AI behavior, the ability to find tutorials, and the introduction of fall damage, among other updates.
