Over the last week or so, ArenaNet has been teasing a series of icons that sure look to most of us like icons for new epic specializations. That’s a pretty big deal for Guild Wars 2 players if so; we haven’t had new elites since 2022’s End of Dragons expansion, just new and proliferated weapons. We weren’t even sure we’d ever get elites again with the annual cadence, but I’m super glad if we are because they add such a large amount of customization and content and choice for our fleets of alts.

But I have to say what really piqued my interest was the lute icon that looks like some sort of bard. Yes, we have the Virtuoso, but it plays and looks like a Mesmer, not really a bard. I have a tiny hope it’s actually a spec for the Warrior or Thief and will actually play like something new. I would also love something for my Engineer that capitalizes on turrets. I miss my turrets!
